FWMBC MINISTRIES:

A-V Media Ministry

The A-V Media Ministry is responsible for our audio video and media presentation services. Their goal is to ensure the “Word of God” is delivered with clarity to the congregation and recorded for delivery to sick and shut-in-members. This ministry provides audio CD’s of each service held at the Fifth Ward Baptist Church.

Autism Ministry

The mission of the Autism Ministry is to create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for individuals with autism and their families. Guided by the love of Christ, we are committed to understanding unique needs, fostering spiritual growth, and promoting full participation in the life of the church through awareness, education, and compassionate care.

Book Club Ministry

The mission of the Book Club Ministry is to encourage spiritual growth, thoughtful discussion, and fellowship through reading and reflecting on faith-based literature. We aim to inspire deeper understanding of God’s Word, promote lifelong learning, and build meaningful connections among members through shared stories and guided conversations.

Bereavement Ministry

The mission of the Bereavement Ministry is to provide compassionate support, comfort, and care to individuals and families during times of loss. Through prayer, presence, and practical assistance, we strive to extend the love of Christ and help ease the burden of grief within our church family and community.

 Brotherhood Ministry

The Brotherhood Ministry of FWMBC is striving to disciple and develop men. To engage men in sound Bible teaching and studies that will benefit them in leadership roles and as spiritual heads of households. We want to ensure a sound Christian witness by developing a servant’s attitude for Christian service in our communities and in this world. We have a vision of mentor-ship to save the seed of future generations by teaching and being Godly examples. We encourage all men 18 years and older to come out and study God’s Word with us as we endeavor to become stronger Christian men while positively supporting our Pastor, Church and Community.

Deacons Ministry

Contact: Deacon Joe Bundage

The Deacons are elected leaders of our Church and are ordained by the Congregation to provide Spiritual Leadership. They work alongside the Pastor and are responsible for the spiritual growth and development of the congregation. Each Deacon assists the Pastor with pastoral duties and they are assigned families for providing immediate response to any spiritual need. Any of these men may be called upon to answer questions about the church or to assist you in your spiritual walk with the Lord. In the spirit of Acts 6:3, our Deacons minister to the Church and serve Jesus by caring for and meeting needs of persons, leading the Church to engage in the fellowship of worship, witnessing, and education, and by supporting and encouraging other church members in their areas of ministry within the church. They are responsible for the administration of the ordinances of the church (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper).

 Deborah’s Palm Tree Ministry

Ministry is designed to provide information concerning changes in Civil Laws and to provide assistance in legal matters.

 Deaconess, Ministers and Trustee Wives’ Ministry

Contact: Sis. Gloretha Bundage

This ministry supports the work of the Pastor and the Deacons by meeting the needs of the congregation and the community; they serve the congregation by assisting the Pastor and the Deacons in the administration of the ordinances of the church (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper) and in ministering to sick or shut-in.

Educational Ministry

The mission of the Education Ministry is to nurture spiritual growth and biblical understanding through teaching, training, and discipleship. We are committed to equipping individuals of all ages with the knowledge and tools needed to live out their faith, grow in Christ, and serve effectively within the church and the community.

Environmental Ministry

The Environmental ministry has a very important job. They ensure that our facilities are clean, decent and kept in an orderly manner. This ministry of helps is an intricate part of the service that fosters an environment that makes people feel comfortable and welcomed. They work tirelessly inside and outside the church to insure that all who enters our grounds and come through our doors realize that we believe “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.”

Greeters Ministry

“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the House of the Lord” Psalm 122:1

The “Greeters Ministry” plays a significant role in our church.  As greeters we are responsible for making people feel welcome at church, as well as helping guests feel acquainted with our community. We believe that guests will often decide whether or not to come back to a church before they hear a sermon. Therefore at Fifth Ward, as the first contact that everyone who enters our doors sees, we strive to create a warm and friendly atmosphere to prepare congregants for an enjoyable and uplifting time of worship.

Grief Ministry

The “Grief Ministry” assists individuals who are experiencing difficulty in understanding life’s inevitable journey. “The cross of Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father’s house of forever, peace and it’s the only wat to have meaningful peace in the her and now” (Crowder, 2016, pg. 26) We create our plan to heal or mind by  praising God as we experience the most challenging part of our life.

Lambs of God Praise Dance Ministry

The Lambs of God Praise Dance Ministry is a vibrant, Spirit-led ministry birthed from a desire to worship God through the beauty of movement and the power of praise. With hearts surrendered and bodies yielded, we dance not for performance, but for purpose—to glorify our Savior, uplift the Body of Christ, and shift the atmosphere through prophetic expression.

Marriage Ministry

The FWMBC Marriage Ministry is focusing on examining the scriptures to see how we can honor our Heavenly Father in our marriages. We have found out that our Holy Father has created the marriage Relationship to make us Holy and Happy! We invite you all to join us as we continue to study  and grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ and our spouses. Marriage is the foundational relationship in the body of Christ. “What God has joined together, let no man separate”. Matthew 19:6 “Be Holy for I am Holy”. I Peter 1:6

Music Ministry

The FWMBC Music Ministry includes the following groups:

  • The Senior Adult Choir
  • The Male Chorus
  • The Women’s Chorus
  • Young Voices of Praise

“It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.”  2 Chronicles 5: 13-14

The Fifth Ward Baptist Church Choirs have been singing praises to the Lord for many years. We invite others in the church to join, and help us lift up the name of Jesus in song.

Nurse Aid Ministry

The mission of the Nurse Aid Ministry is to provide compassionate, professional, and faith-based health support to our congregation during worship services and church events. We are committed to promoting wellness, responding to medical needs, and offering care with dignity and respect, as we serve God by serving others.

Pastor’s Aid Ministry

This ministry is a group of men and women committed to the spirit of fellowship and service for the success of the church. They embrace the vision of the Pastor and are committed to ensure that the vision becomes a reality.

 Resource Ministry

The mission of the Resource Ministry is to serve as a bridge between our church and the community by providing access to helpful information, services, and support. We are committed to connecting individuals and families with the resources they need—spiritually, emotionally, and practically—to grow, thrive, and overcome life’s challenges.

Senior Adult Ministry

For those 55 years of age and older, the Ministry meets each Thursday at 12:30 PM for Bible Study and Fellowship. The Ministry also takes special trips designed to keep the senior adults active and motivated.

Senior Mission Ministry

The Senior Mission is called to grow in knowledge and experience of God through Jesus Christ, committed to support the mission of the church, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are challenged to help one another engage in ministry and action to grow and respond in faith to God’s redemptive plan for the church, the society and the world. We are responsible for 5th Sunday worship service  and music ministered by the Women’s Chorus.

Singles Ministry

The Single’s Ministry is dedicated to empowering singles to live a Godly life amidst the challenges of everyday life. We strive to create a supportive community where individuals can grow in faith, share their experiences, and hold each other accountable in a loving and Christ-centered manner. Our mission is to foster spiritual growth, encourage healthy relationships, and equip singles with the tools they need to navigate life’s struggles while remaining steadfast in their commitment to God to live a holy life.

Street Ministry

The mission of the Street Ministry is to reach beyond the walls of the church to share the love, hope, and salvation of Jesus Christ with those in need. Through outreach, prayer, and acts of compassion, we are dedicated to meeting people where they are—offering spiritual encouragement, essential resources, and a message of transformation and hope.

Usher Ministry

“For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.  I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” Psalms 84:10

We are the link connecting the pulpit and the congregation. We are responsible for seating members and guests, making them feel loved and wanted and comfortable in the house of the Lord. As “doorkeepers” of the House of God, the Ushers are responsible for making our visitors and all who enter the gates of Fifth Ward feel welcome and to tend to their needs while they praise God and worship with us.

We Care Ministry

The mission of the We Care Ministry is to warmly welcome and connect with new members of our church family. We strive to extend the love of Christ through personal outreach, encouragement, and support, helping each individual feel valued, informed, and integrated into the life and fellowship of our church community.

Women of Faith Ministry

The goal of the Women’s Ministry is to encourage each woman toward maturity in Christ — by growing in the knowledge of Him through study of His Word (the Bible), by discovering and employing her spiritual gifts as she ministers in the Body of Christ, and by developing her God-given talents through various opportunities of service.

It is our desire that our Lord Jesus Christ be glorified through the events and ministries offered to women, and that His body, the Church, be further strengthened and built up as a result.

Youth Ministry

The goal of the Fifth Ward Missionary Baptist Church Youth Department is to “Produce Passionate Disciples” who will love the Lord with all their hearts, souls and strength. They will love the Lord so much that they will stop at nothing to please Him and only Him. The Youth Church meets each 2nd Sundays at 10 AM in the Multi-Purpose Center.
