All AAPOL members, HPD employees, & Houston Area Community members who have a dependent that is a graduating senior from High School are eligible to apply. AAPOL will be awarding scholarships of up to $1,000.00. The recipient of the scholarship can use the funds to supplement the cost of tuition, boarding, and books. Funds will be awarded directly to the university/college the recipient is enrolled in Fall 2024. As such, recipients must provide documentation of enrollment/registration and a copy of their high school transcript.High school seniors, who are interested must submit a minimum of a 400-word essay answering the following question: “How has social media impacted your view of police officers in law enforcement? What measures will you take to discern which law enforcement events you see on social media are true, false, right, wrong or indifferent?” 
DEADLINE FOR COMPLETE PACKET SUBMISSION IS MONDAY, MARCH 25TH @ 5:00PM!!
