Their goal is to ensure the \u201cWord of God\u201d is delivered with clarity to the congregation and recorded for delivery to sick and shut-in-members. This ministry provides audio CD\u2019s of each service held at the Fifth Ward Baptist Church.<\/p>\n Brotherhood Ministry<\/strong><\/p>\n Contact: Anthony Johnson<\/p>\n The Brotherhood Ministry of FWMBC is striving to disciple and develop men. To engage men in sound Bible teaching and studies that will benefit them in leadership roles and as spiritual heads of households. We want to ensure a sound Christian witness by developing a servant’s attitude for Christian service in our communities and in this world. We have a vision of mentor-ship to save the seed of future generations by teaching and being Godly examples. We encourage all men 18 years and older to come out and study God\u2019s Word with us as we endeavor to become stronger Christian men while positively supporting our Pastor, Church and Community.<\/p>\n Deborah’s Palm Tree Ministry<\/strong><\/p>\n Contact: Elaine Marshall<\/p>\n Ministry is designed to provide information concerning changes in Civil Laws and to provide assistance in legal matters.<\/p>\n Caring Ministry<\/strong><\/p>\n Contact: Emily Ward<\/p>\n The Caring Ministry is a pastoral ministry service offered to people of our church and others in the community at vulnerable and painful times in their lives. The caring ministry is for those people who are hospitalized, in nursing homes, or confined to private homes. The Caring Ministry conducts pastoral visits with time to listen to and pray about the concerns of the sick or shut-in person and to share the Lord\u2019s Supper with them.<\/p>\n Deacons Ministry<\/strong><\/p>\n The Deacons are elected leaders of our Church and are ordained by the Congregation to provide Spiritual Leadership. They work alongside the Pastor and are responsible for the spiritual growth and development of the congregation. Each Deacon assists the Pastor with pastoral duties and they are assigned families for providing immediate response to any spiritual need. Any of these men may be called upon to answer questions about the church or to assist you in your spiritual walk with the Lord. In the spirit of Acts 6:3, our Deacons minister to the Church and serve Jesus by caring for and meeting needs of persons, leading the Church to engage in the fellowship of worship, witnessing, and education, and by supporting and encouraging other church members in their areas of ministry within the church. They are responsible for the administration of the ordinances of the church (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper).<\/p>\n Deaconess, Ministers and Trustee Wives’ Ministry<\/strong><\/p>\n Contact: Gloretha Bundage<\/p>\n This ministry supports the work of the Pastor and the Deacons by meeting the needs of the congregation and the community; they serve the congregation by assisting the Pastor and the Deacons in the administration of the ordinances of the church (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper) and in ministering to sick or shut-in.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Environmental Ministry<\/strong><\/p>\n Contact: Murphy Robey<\/p>\n The Environmental ministry has a very important job. They ensure that our facilities are clean, decent and kept in an orderly manner. This ministry of helps is an intricate part of the service that fosters an environment that makes people feel comfortable and welcomed. They work tirelessly inside and outside the church to insure that all who enters our grounds and come through our doors realize that we believe \u201cCleanliness is next to Godliness.\u201d<\/p>\n Greeters Ministry<\/strong><\/p>\n Contact: Effie Wilkerson<\/p>\n “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the House of the Lord” <\/em>Psalm 122:1<\/p>\n The “Greeters Ministry” plays a significant role in our church.\u00a0 As greeters we are responsible for making people feel welcome at church, as well as helping guests feel acquainted with our community. We believe that guests will often decide whether or not to come back to a church before they hear a sermon. Therefore at Fifth Ward, as the first contact that everyone who enters our doors sees, we strive to create a warm and friendly atmosphere to prepare congregants for an enjoyable and uplifting time of worship.<\/p>\n Music Ministry<\/strong><\/p>\n Contact:\u00a0Bro. The Prayer Band Ministry strives to meet the needs of the congregation through intercessory prayer. The ministry is also available to honor special prayer requests from members of the Body of Christ as well as to share Praise Reports. The members of the Prayer Band Ministry are committed to disciple, encourage, self-evaluate and promote opportunities to serve others.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Senior Adult Ministry<\/strong><\/p>\n Contact: Barbara Johnson<\/p>\n For those 55 years of age and older, the Ministry meets each Thursday at 12:30 PM for Bible Study and Fellowship.
